Effexor 75 mg for fibromyalgia pain

Hi

I'm new to this forum. I would like to know if anyone has had success taking Effexor 75 mg for fibromyalgia and arthritis. Trying to keep the weight gain to a minimum.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Some of us take anti-depressants (which Effexor is) to maybe help with our fibro symptoms. I'm one, and take low dose of Celexa. It's more for long-term anxiety, though, than my fibro symptoms.

Cymbalta is in the same class and Effexor and Cymbalta did help me, but caused so much gas I went off that and focused on Lyrica, which does work for me, but is very expensive.

I can't take the meds for Fibro like Gabapentin and Lyrica because I also have IBD with constipation.. What really helps my Fibro is the water aerobics I do 4-5 times a week.. And I love my heating pad, blanket and hot tub/hot showers to really loosen up my joints. Since I prefer to stay away from those harder drugs (I also take Linzess, Prevacid for GERD, blood pressure meds) I am looking into medicinal Cannibus. It helps for my nausea but I think pain patches might work nicely.. Oh I also take ibruprophen for pain as I have arthritis up n down my spine.. Since I already take so much medication I prefer to try the nature of Cannibus.. Good luck to you!!
