Ok last summer i got my d to 48 felt better,
Went on 6,000 a day over the winter to try to maintain
Just found out i slipped back even in summer to 30.
30 is the low end of normal, but i do not feel well at 30 .
My sisters dr.. Tries to keep her at 60...
So here i go again..i will tritate up again...just have not found my sweet spot yet..
I repost this most years just as a reminder..because when my numbers drop..my fibro symptoms all get worse..

My vit was checked 3-4 yrs back, how can it be checked at home?
I can't be in sun because of lupus,I get flares .
It was 15 always,it never moves up,
I do not know how to increase..?
Maybe that why my Fibro is so bad!

I take 5,500 IU daily and have for years. This includes my vitamin D3 supplement and the D in my calcium and multiple vitamin. This keeps my levels between 50-60 and I feel good. I never backed down because there was no need to be backed down.
Cilly, I'm surprised your doctor hasn't suggested you be put on Vitamin D with your numbers being so low! This can cause more pain and fatigue! I live in Florida and am in the sun quite a bit but I wear sunscreen so my levels were low like yours. This vitamin made a difference for me and I'll be taking it forever.

Cilly whoa thats low , get your dr. To help you get that up..i felt so tired and foggy, and my pain was so much more when i was at 19.
.
You need to be retested until your number is at least closer to 50.
I felt much better at 48

Mine got down to 8 a few years ago. I was put on prescript
ion D for a year. My rheumatologist makes me take 5,000 units a day now.

I believe 35 is the minimum level.
Mine was in the danger zone at 8. I felt like I had been beaten with a sledgehammer all over my body.
