Drug Interactions?

Im 58 and have been on oxycodone for arthritis for 5 years and xanax for panic attacks for 6 years. My Doc just prescribed Cymbalta for my fibro. Is that safe with these other meds?

Hi, Cartman, and welcome. There is a chance you could develop Serotonin Syndrome. Combining the opiod pain killer along with Cymbalta (SSNI) could possibly cause this problem. Here is a link from the Mayo Clinic that helps explain this.

You can also talk to your pharmacist about this. They should know all about these medications and interactions. Do let us know what you do because we do care about you.
