Fibro Headaches

Hello I am new the forum. I have had a long time of aches and pains for over 15 years, docs have mentioned fibromyagia but have not been officially diagnosed. My recent flare is really bad headaches. We were remodeling our kitchen and it was a super stressful time. I was very stressed and clenching jaw in sleep and uptight. I started to get little short jabby pains on top of the head like an ice pick. After a few weeks of those I turned my head nothing out of the ordinary and felt a jolt of pain in my head. I went to a neuro and they called it occipital neuralgia. It has been 5 months so far and just pretty fed up with sharp pains in head. Some days are better but for the most part my head hurts a lot. The doctor said stress and muscle tension can cause this. Does anyone else have these type of headaches. Any relief?

I get ice pick headaches too, and yes they're actually called that. I never attributed them to fibro before though. I DO tend to clench my jaw in my sleep when I'm stressed however. What worked for me was accidently being sent to physical therapy for my neck instead of my back (I also have scoliosis). After 6 weeks of learning stretching exercises and then being blown away that it's possible for your head to actually rest on your shoulder the headaches went away. I think there cause may actually lie in strained neck muscles more than fibromyalgia, but that's just my opinion. I still get them when I've been stressed out and clenching my jaw but try to stretch my neck out and they seem to go away. They're excruciating though! Hope that helps!
