Hi Erin, happened to see your post & wanted to make a comment about the arm pain. It is possible this pain could be from how you slept the night before, changing positions in your sleep. To come on as sudden as it did, it leads me to think this was something positional while you were asleep. Once you were up & about did the pain go away or get any better?
If it persists for a week, then I would go to the dr & have him/her check it out. Pain from the elbows to the hand can often be a result of carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused either by injury/trauma to the hands. The other cause is repetitive use of the hands. For instance someone that uses a computer at home, or work, carpenters that use their hands & vibrating tools all day. Just throwing a couple of examples out for you. Also, tendonitis can cause this type of pain. Lot's of variables involved.
