Akkami, please try not to worry so much. This is causing more stress which is feeding the flare...if that is what is going on with you. If this continues, it sure wouldn’t hurt to see your doctor and see what they think...specially a rheumatologist. It’s easy to blame everything on fibro.
Please stop projecting yourself into the future. You are looking negatively at all of this and that can cause more pain too. You need to take one day at a time and try to relax.
No one knows what the future holds so we can’t predict this for you. But I can use myself as an example as to what has happened to me in the past. I’ve had fibro for 31 years and I have never gone into remission. But my pain has waxed and waned. I worked on finding things to help control the pain and then moved forward and paced myself when doing things.
A little over six years ago I really started going downhill. Try as I may, my pain was totally out of control. My back pain was severe and so was the pain in my hips and running down both legs. I was taking inch steps and needed two canes to walk. I honestly thought I was going to have to sell my home and go into assisted living! It was quite frightening for me.
Then I remembered that fibro isn’t considered a progressive illness. I made an appointment with a rheumatologist and was run through a myriad of blood work. X-rays, and two MRI’s of my hips. I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, sacroiliitis, along with fibromyalgia. I was given a muscle relaxer, put back on ibuprofen, and day by day, I got better and better!
Today my life is pretty normal...for me. I still have chronic pain and most likely will the rest of my life. I’ve accepted that fact. But I have learned what helps me keep my pain under control so I can do the things I want to do. I know I need to take three ibuprofen twice a day and, if I’m having a bad day, I will take it three times a day. I don’t wait until the pain is bad before I take it, either. That just makes it take twice as long to get the pain under control. I use supplements that help with pain also. I couldn’t be happier with these results. I live a full and enjoyable life in spite of my pain and this stupid illness. I find ways to work around fibro to do the things I want to do and I don’t worry about the future since no one knows what the future will bring. I could have more bad bouts of illness but, then again, I could keep on keeping on! But one thing I do know. I will not worry about it. That could bring on more pain. And...I never give up hope!
I hope you start feeling better soon. If not, do see a rheumatologist.
