Hi, LIssah, and welcome! Yes it’s scary when you get chest pains but it can be caused by gas and acid reflux. I’m glad you saw a doctor and were checked out. You are so young that I really haven’t heard of people your age having a heart attack.
I’m not a doctor but have gotten chest pains from gas, GERD, and have had costochondritis. Since the doctors have told you twice that you are fine, then I’d lean toward these other things. My doctor has me taking Gas X for gas. I take the extra strength ones and he said I can have up to four a day. Usually one does the trick. I also take Tums for GERD. That’s acid backing up into the esophagus and can feel like chest pains. I haven’t had costochondritis for a long time but for me it feels like a tight band around me and makes it hard to breath plus I feel like I have sore muscles around my rib cage. If you go into Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum...you will find a link about costo and you can see if this sounds like what you are experiencing.
You should avoid gassy foods like cabbage, onions, soft drinks. I’d avoid acid causing foods like tomatoes, fried foods, spicy foods, etc. until you know what really is going on.
If you don’t have a primary care physician, it would be a good idea to get one. This would put your mind at ease. Anxiety can cause chest pain. Try to get a board certified doctor. Then, if these chest pains were to continue, they could refer you to a specialist. I really don’t think there is a huge problem because this just started after eating at a fast food restaurant. I bet you won’t eat there again! 😂. Yes, laugh! Relax. Being tense doesn’t help at all.
Let us know what you try and if it has helped you. At your age you should be thinking about dating and what the best movie is in your theater...not heart attacks! Feel better!
