I am not sure how current this site is just need a little support. I have had fibromyalgia for several years now. I have been having terrible foot/toe/leg pain for the last year or so. It all started with a terrible flare up of plantars fascitus and a bunion that was quite painful at the time. I worked through that just doing home remedies and such. I also had a ganglion cyst on same foot. As my PF began to subside not long after I had terrible swelling in my foot and pain from my ankle to my toes. It was discolored and I had a weird itchy rash that broke out. I didn't think much of it thought it was simply irritated by the way I was walking due to PF. That foot started to get a little bit better then my left foot started doing the exact same thing.
Needless to say I was miserable. I could hardly walk without pain. Shoes were very limited in what I could wear. I went to my doctor, a np, and my ortho surgeon that was to do surgery on my bunion this year. All he had to say was he could appreciate some good swelling in a foot. Forthunately they didn't see anything broken on standard x-rays. NP wanted me to try a walking boot and I knew that wasnt going to do much good first it was both feet and they felt tight and miserable already I couldn't imagine strapping on a snug boot. They kept saying it's overuse pain just R.I.C.E it for now. I told them I have been doing that and it's not helping. Actually ice feels horrible on my feet.
Fast forward to today still having pain in my feet, I cancelled my surgery for now need to get this figured out. Swelling isn't as bad, but my feet go numb easily, and they can feel so tight espically at night. Now I have burning in my toes consistently throughout the day. I sometimes get an electric shock feeling in my toes that will take your breath away. I'm not sleeping good. I'm irritable from all this. I just know this isn't normal for me. I talked to my endocrinologist about it and he did say it sounded like peripheral neuropathy possibly tarsal tunnel. I see my neurologist in a few days and hope hope hope he can shed some light on this. My feet were so messed up at one time I thought I might have a blood clot. If something is going on I may have to find another PCP.
Just needed to whine I wake up with pain I go to bed in pain and it just gets tiresome. This isn't the person I want to be. I used to get up and hit the ground running now I dread getting up and feeling the pain in my feet knowing it will be with me all day. I elevate my feet alot but sometimes that doesn't feel good.
Just ready for some answers, ready for a good night's sleep, wishing I could find my spunk again. I get through the day but this pain has definitely slowed me down. Thank you for listening.
