So I am a stay at home mom with lots of health issues, unfortunately. I woke up August 26, 2018 and lost function of my left side. After being completelyindependent and the most fun mom, in words of my 12yr old--life became miserable. Apparentlymy brain went caput on migrainesand started exhibiting stroke like symptomseverytime I got a migraine. Then to top it off 3 mo later I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and essentialtremors...yay me! I've been on so many medications and I just didn't feel myself and was still not being able function w.o pain or enthusiasmas I had before. It wasn't only my life but my 2 littleboys and husband.. my wholefamilylives changed. I couldn'tdrive work go out without another adult. I felt like I was useless. Then my husband bought me candle making kit to try get me into something. I loved it when I wasn't tired.. One day we went to mall and and shop was advertising their tea.. my husband loves tea...me not so much I'm a avid coffee enthusiast. But he saw a cbd mango tea and it said helped with sleep and relaxing. The lady told me that if I drank it with a valerian root tea mix, it would help me relax and sleep,... I WASN'T SOLD. MY HUSBAND was like won't hurt to try.. So he bought it along with a Green dragon pearl tea that helps with chronicpain anxiety, weight, and energy.... He literally made it his duty to make me a cup of green dragontea every morning and a Valerian root and cbd mango tea at 7pm every evening..... gosh I love him and his strengthfor me when I'm all out, because after 2 weeks I was up and in good mood in day and sleep at night. The teas along with my meds shifted to night time helped wonders....
Then I was up making candles, looking up diy videos , making everythingall Natural.. but then I'd go caput again from pain...till I read up on Marijuana.
But I hate smoke and the smell. I ended up learning to make my own tinctures, butter, and oils... which lead me to make my own pain lotions soaps balms and salves.... that actuallyworked miracles... friends family friends of family they all were in love and after reading multiple posts on here... I decided to post hopingit might help even if just one person. So if you wanna try I hope and pray my combo helps you!!!

Hi, Bubble Girl, and welcome! You have been through a lot like most of us on this forum and I’m glad you found things that help you. But with fibro, what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another but we all try new things. Thanks for your suggestions.

For me, a muscle relaxer called methocarbamol has done wonders for my pain. I was at one point almost not able to walk due to severe back and hip pain and pain shooting down my legs. Just lifting my foot an inch to take a tiny step brought tears to my eyes and I was using two canes for support. Methocarbamol took care of the problem. This is a prescription medication but isn’t terribly expensive if you use GoodRX.com.

Also, most are deficient in vitamin D3. I was badly deficient and I live in sunny Florida but I use sun screen so that blocks the vitamin D from the sun from being absorbed. I now take 5,500 IU of D3 and that has helped a lot. One of my kids who lives up north started taking 5,000 IU a day and says she now feels great! So that’s another though.

Lastly about your severe migraines. I have a friend who has suffered with them for decades and last year she thought she had a stroke. She was life flighted to the hospital and was diagnosed with a stroke until further testing showed it was a migraine. Like you said, some migraines can mimic a stroke. She went to numerous specialists and finally saw an allergist. He tested her for allergies and she had some to pollens but she was also allergic to many common foods..pork products, onions, garlic, lemons, oranges, wheat, rice etc! She cut back on them and doesn’t get migraines now...unless she cheats. She loves bread but can’t eat it. Even the gluten-free bread is bad because it’s made with rice flour and she is allergic to rice! But if you continue with these migraines, I would suggest you see a good board certified allergist and see if that could be the cause of the .
