Hi, NYHenry, and welcome! Pain doesn’t have to be symmetrical with fibro. But the areas you are mentioning seems to me to be. A used by the way you carry yourself. You may be favoring one leg over the other and not realizing it. After a while the muscles tighten and cause trigger points or knots in the muscles. Try massaging those areas.
I looked up trigger points in shins and ankles and found this...
“The tibialis anterior trigger point typically causes pain in the front of the shin, ankle and on the big toe. In most cases the trigger points are related to sports/overuse issues, and are often present I. Long distance drivers.”
So, yes, you can have trigger points on your shin and ankle. And as far as the elbow is, you may be leaning on the elbow more also.
My pain hasn’t always been symmetrical and we all have different areas that bother us. We are all very different. What area hurts one person might not hurt another.
As far as whether you have Lyme or fibro, we aren’t doctors so we can’t answer that. But if you read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum...there is a lot of good info there about fibro and you might see yourself there. Only you can tell.
I do hope this has answered your questions.
