Hi bekah8100 and welcome to the fibro forum!
I just am getting over a nasty bout with nerve pain, and yes, some of it was up throughout my head. I like listening to very mellow music (the kind that can put you to sleep!), praying, calming breathing exercises, very gentle massage, and sometimes have success using either an ice pack or (conversely) heat. Though it's hot out, I put on a winter cap and oddly enough, for whatever reason, it gave me some relief!
Do you take anything for nerve pain like gabapentin, a prescription med? That's helpful, too.
There are foods that are good for neuropathy, such as cherries, bananas, flax seeds, fish, brown rice, sunflower seeds, many green vegetables and several fruits (many lists online--simply do a search on "foods that help neuropathy"). Chamomile tea is soothing, too. I also like (weak) gingerroot tea (homemade from gingerroot, found in the produce area in grocery stores--sometimes it can interfere with meds, I believe, so check with your doctor), and a tea called "Tension Tamer" which is from Celestial Seasonings.
Sometimes just smelling a favorite essential oil helps (I like lavender).
Oddly enough, maybe it's just me, but sometimes spicy foods can help, if it doesn't bother your stomach.
I try to sip lots of water, too--seems to flush out whatever is causing the problem. I've found more sleep is a must when nerve pain visits! And I try to slow down more, in general.
I'm not a medical professional--just some things that I've found helpful, personally. Always good to check in with your doctor regarding all this. Hope you're better soon!
