Husband and ESLD

Hi everyone,

my husband ended up in the hospital over labor day weekend and the doctors said that he is ESLD. I have gone with his wishes of not receiving any blood transfusions only his medication i also stated that he be under DNR. I am trying to stay positive for my daughter, my husbands brother and wife were her with me for the week an dhelped me take care of some things. Doctors state that he only has a 50/50 percent so we have all decided to call in Hospice.

Hi Celey, I know how hard the decision to call in hospice was. I am so glad your husband's family came when you needed them.
It broke my heart when I had to do it for my husband. His family didn't see him much and some thought that I called in hospice too soon. But none of them offered any assistance. He died 3 weeks later. I don't think that was too soon do you?

I hope that your and your husband's experience with them will be as good as ours was. It is a wonderful organization full of wonderful people.

hi,

thank you Pink Grandma, i don't beleive you called hospice too soon. And after talking with my in-laws calling hospice is the best thing i can do for all of us.
