Long time no see friends

I was put on antidepressents after I found out about the disease. To help me sleep. I guess the Dr. recognized I was depressed. Anyway needless to say the didn't help me sleep . I was about ready to stop taking them , when I realized I had stopped crying about everything and anything and that my anxiety attacks weren't as frequent. Only one problem I used to take the anxiety pills on occation to help me sleep. The psychyatrist at my eveluation sad I should stop taking them. So I can't sleep and now am worried about a relaps on my anxiety. They fix one end and scuuu up another.

Have you applied for SSD . My brother who has only one kidney , had told me years ago to apply becaus of my arthritis but I never did. One day on my way home from the Dr.s . I decided to stop and pick up paper work and check it out. To my surprise they sat me down and filled out all the paper work for me on line. I just had to sign papers. Giving permission to get records from DR. I had already been eveluated and accepted also informed about what type of arthritis I had etc. It only took about 3 months and I received a letter in the mail saying they had checked with my DR.s and hospitals and due to the extent of my ilnesses I would immediately qualify. I must really be messed up. I'm the first person I have ever heard of that has qualified that quickly. It really helps. Actually it amounts to more than I get on my retirement check.

Hi everyone

We are making it.  Jerry has good days and bad.  He's still has a lot of pain, wears a 100 mcg Fentnaly pain patch and takes oxycodone when needed.  He hasn't been to doctor in quite a while, and actually sometimes seems to be doing better.  He has no energy and is weak, but still try's to hunt some on our place.  The main thing is he's still alive and I think he's going to make it to see the next grandchild due in November.  I didn't think he'd make it this long, but it seems like when he got off the Nexavar and started using the pain patch, he improved some.  Don't get me wrong, he still has some really bad days, where when he eats it comes right back up, but that's not all the time anymore, so life isn't quite as stressful as could be.  We are making day by day.  I am so thankful for the time we have together.  Keep us in your prayers and I keep you in mine.  We did make the one year anniversary for the transplant on 10/17, so that was good and 1 year that we wouldn't have had.  Take care all and I will keep checking in.

Hi All,

I know it has been forever, But I read the posts daily and ALWAYS have lots of happy thoughts for everyone and prayers for us all. I am doing OK. I am the proud Grandmother of a beautiful baby girl who absolutely wonderful and free of all health problems they were worried about. Her name is Heather Lynn. Unfortunately her Mom and Dad have seperated again and my son Tony is living with me for now. I love having him with me but man.....he is having major health issues (echocardiagram shows one of the vavles in his heart is not functioning right) so I am glad I am close. It is just very hard to feed 4 people when all I make is 650.00 a month. But we are survivors so I know we will be OK. Just a little stressful in the mean time.

Pasey, don't hesitate to apply for food stamps.  I'm sure you would qualify.  And don't be ashamed to do it...that's what they're there for, people who can't make their small income stretch sufficiently.  A lot of people who've never done so before are having to apply these days.  I would, myself, but know they consider my income to be too high to qualify.  (HA!)

Congrats on your healthy grandbaby, and I hope your son will be okay.

Connie & Pink Grandma I just wanted to let you know that once again my son has shocked me. He got up today and went and applied for food stamps to help out. He did qualify so that is such a blessing. They also told him to go to Social Security right away. His health does keep him from working all the time and that is the only way he will get medical insurance. I am just so thrilled that he got proactive to try and help me help him. I am also reading a coulpe of books on Co-Dependency that I feel I really need. I'm sure they will make me angry but if I can open my mind to them I am sure they will help. I think of you guys all the time. Even if I don't post please know that I am reading posts and praying for you all.

( I guess I feel like I can use my real name now. No one here is going to run away from me just because I have Hep C. That feeling is worth more than any amount of money. Hopefully someday I will feel that way every where.)
