Hi everyone. I have my hands full right now. My daughter just had a baby on the 10th. (Her first). I am flying to Ca. on Sunday to help her out for a week. Her mother-in-law is there now and will be leaving on Sunday morning. The baby is fine, a beautiful baby boy. He was 2 weeks early so he only weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz. But otherwise he is very healthy. In the meantime my husband has not been feeling well for a few weeks. He complains of dizziness and weakness most of the time. He had a heart attack in 04 and had 2 stents placed afterward. He was on medication for hypertension and did quite well for a couple years. about 1 year ago he started displaying symptoms of diabetes. Of course I hounded him to see a Dr but he refused. (He has always lived in denial of any illness). Anyway. he started losing weight very rapidly, he was grossly overweight prior to the diabetes symptoms. He has lost 115 lbs in 9 months. In the meantime he finally saw a Dr at my insistance and they confirmed my suspicions that he is a diabetic. He started his insulin regimine and has done very well with it. The problem has been since he lost all that weight his cardiologist never reduced his blood pressure medicines. (He was on 3 of them 2x a day). I kept telling him that the meds needed to be readjusted but of course he didn't push it. Since he doesn't allow me to go to the Dr with him I never know what's going on. Well, yesterday he allowed me to call the Dr because of the dizziness. We went in to the office and my husband keeled over in a dead faint. They called 911 of course and took him to the trauma center. His blood pressure was 68 over nothing. They started Iv fluids immediately and let it run wide open to try to increse his pressure. They also took labs and discovered that his Potassium was only 2.8. (Normal is between 3.5 and 5.1). So he had to have some potassium. He insisted that they release him last night. He has a big meeting today and felt he couldn't miss it. So now, I will have to drive him and pick him up. I won't let him drive by himself incase he faints again. I get so frustrated sometimes because he is a hard headed Greek!!!!!!!! We will resolve this issue but in the meantime I could just smack him. LOL. So, as you can see I have my hands full with him. I think he is more work than it was raising 3 kids. I know I am venting on issues that are not as severe as most of you that post are facing so I apologize for that. Just letting off steam I guess. Love you all.
