i been thinking (uh oh scary huh lol) that we could all use a pick me up. im sorry if this is out of line and i will delete it if you want.

How about getting to know one another by saying how you picked out your username and what it means to you. i will start.

i got worriedgirl because i was worried about my mom who has cirrhosis and hep C (at the time she was real bad and i thought she was gonna die) and i originally went on the hepatitis forum and that how i got mine.

This may sound cynical, but I chose "Dog's Friend" because the only friends and companions I've had in my life that haven't eventually disappointed me have been dogs. My dogs also make me want to be a better person. I once had the bumper sticker that said "I wish I could be half as good a person as my dog thinks I am."

Dog's friend, I welcomed you in your other post.  It would be great if you could start a new topic and tell us about yourself and your battle with liver disease.  We want to get to know you.

My screen name is simple:  I was diagnosed with hep C in 1993.  Good idea, worriedgirl.  We need a little fun around here!

I picked "pscwife" because my husband was suffering with PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) and it is also my initials.

isergodur means "ice cream is good" in Icelandic.

I use it on many forums and also on my email, that is the original use for it, I was looking for something to use as a hotmail email :)

I got mine from my oldest granddaughter.........When she first started talking........She thought my red hair was pink.....So I have been called by my 2 granddaughters Pink Grandma for about 7 years now.

Hey, PG, I have red ("pink!") hair, too!  smilewinkgrin    I got tired of coloring it a couple of years ago and mentioned I might just let it go gray, but my g'daughter said "Then you won't be Granny."  So I've kept it. 

Mer, your screen name means "sea" in French and that is always what I think of when I see your name.

PSCwife, how unusual for your initials to be the same as the disease your husband has!

I'm right there with being less creative!  Screen names always get me stuck!  I'm usually isasmom1998 (my daughter's name is Isabella and was born in 1998).  Here I am DGinSD as my initials are DG and I live in San Diego!

I like all your names and am happy for this side string...non-disease related!! 

pcswife...really weird your initials are the same as hubby's disease!

that is still a good name because it means something to you. everyones name means something to them and in turn lets you know about them. and yes it is non-disease related. i did it to make sure we know we are  not who we are or you are not who you are because of the disease but because you are you. Don't let the disease define you you define the disease. plus im sure everyone can use a little time away from the disease.

Hi everyone. This is my first post. I chose my screen name is lilah's ocean because my daughter's name is Delilah (meaning: gentle and/or sorrowful)-middle name: Maren (meaning: of the sea). Right now, I am both sorrowful and yearning for the ocean. My ex & father of my 9 year old son has been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis b & has quickly progressed in 2 months to the current state of being in ICU & non-responsive, 2 days after TIPS surgery. We were planning on driving down to see him this coming Thursday, and rec'd a phone call from his father that there is no point. I don't think I have ever been so sad and confused in my life. Praying for him to come out of this enough so that our son can see him- thank you for giving me the forum to speak.

By the way my real name is Pia.

Pia, welcome to the forum.  I am so sorry about your ex.  However, don't give up hope.  It is possible that he could come out of the coma.  If you still want to go see him and take the kids, he could hear your voices, even in a coma, and it may help him to come out of it.
