any advice please

can anyone tell me if an alcoholic with esld can meet the criteria for NHS continuing health care. I am trying to find out whether the NHS will pay for her care and treatment in a hope or whether she will have to pay it herself as she owns her own home. I live in Scotland, anyone know???? she is 63

although i looked after my gran for years, her house went to my mum, it was only sold last year, so she has that along with a works pension and she owns her own home. I think she might lose it all. although I saw in the NHS website that if someone is suffering from a complex condition the nhs will pay the home fees, but i was not sure. her partner still stays in the home.

I think you will need to speak to the NHS for your area - I know with certain cancer drugs the whole affair can be a lottery depending on your postcode - your situation is again possibly dependent on a number of things of which location will probably be just one.
I would also consider - does london have any say in it or is it all run by scotland?

Yesterday turned out to be quite pointless. We went to the meeting, where doctor and four other professionals were there who were dealing with my mum.
First of all no x ray has been done or heart tests like they said they were going to do.They did say that my mums poor mobility was concern and they were going to speak directly to the doctor who did the hip operation see what they deicide.she is in the wheel chair most of the time.
secondly her liver, they had doen some blood tests when she came in (bearing in mind she still had a lot of alcohol in her system) they mentioned the bilirubin levels which were very high and said the results had improved slightly since she came in. he said that meant her liver was slowly improving!!!!I am not convinced. He said her liver was very badly damaged he has no idea just how much scarring is there.
lastly the social worker who had said she was applying for a place in the care home, was nowhere to be seen. She has seen my mum at her worst, but again she made us think it was as simple as go to the meeting where the decision will be made, but as far as i can see that is much further down the road.
I am really confused when looking up all the info here on this site my mum has had just about every symptom of esld, now she is a shadow of herslef very very gaunt, exausted, covered in large bruises, skin very dry horrible colour not yellow grey/dirty tan look, she talks with a drawl, eyes half open, wears protection because she is incontinent, she is eating that is a plus but that will change once she goes home.
I was really surprised that they did not really know her past history, they really only knew what i was telling them. These meetings are every week, I will not be attending many more, i will visit her when i can, see to her needs. But it is very difficult it different when i watch her with her partner, they can talk but our relationship has broken down so much i find it hard to talk, so once you have got the usual niceties out of the way I am struggling what to say.
They keep saying its an illness, i know that but its not just an illness its the emotional mess too. So no plans for discharge, they will build her up, she will say what she should say and they will probably let her out to do the same again.
I swore i would never speak to her partner after he punched my husband, but i have had to, i do not like it but i feel i am stuck.
