One day you think you are dealing with a manageable disease, the next, you are dealing with life or death.

My significant other lies in the hospital right now with a failing liver, bad pancreas, and failing kidneys. He is in and out of sleep. Doctors said it does not look good and to be prepared for the worst.

I have cried...family has gathered...I am trying to be strong for him.

Whatever has a hold of his body is just going rampant.

I love him, and I am heartbroken, but I want to be strong and loving for him if this is his end.

ah Rosie... just be urself....it's ok to get help from others... and it's ok to cry... hurt... yes I was in a daze... and sometimes still am.... one foot in front of the other... one minute at a time.. just breathe... my prayers are with you... my heart is too... Sandi

My heart truly goes out to you.  I do hope some miracle turns it all around.  Know that we are all thinking of you.

He passed away on Monday. He was in alot of pain. His case was very unusual in that things progressed so quickly.

I don't think things have sunk in...but I do know that I am thankful all those who loved him were with him when he left this world. We all let him know we loved him. I will make it a goal of mine in life to see that he is never forgotten.

Thank you all for your prayers. It means alot and I will continue to support those of you on this board.

I am sorry for your loss. And look to you and others who are losing or have lost their loved ones in their fight with liver disease. I look to your strength in this sad hour to help us get through difficult times at our house. ML

Rose,

I am so unbelievably sad that he couldn't be helped and passed away.  I was just thinking about you this morning when I logged in and wondered what had been going on.  I'm glad to hear that you were all there for him.  I'm sure he left happy knowing that he was so loved.

I would encourage you to get involved with your local American Liver Foundation.  It may help to volunteer and feel connected that way...just a thought.

I am so, so sorry. I am glad that all his loved ones were with him. I hope that can give you some comfort. Prayers to you.

Rose, this is very sad news.  I'm sorry he was in so much pain.  At least he is free of that now.  My heart goes out to you at this difficult time.  Please continue to post whenever you feel up to it.

hi rose sorry for your loss. But one thing that has helped me since my mom passed away is people never really die because they have loved, and because they have loved they live on in the heart of the people they have touched.

So very sorry Rose for your loss... you will be in my constant prayers... for me... it wasn't until four months after that it hit in... and well... Ive been a mess the past few months but surviving... and moving forward... my prayers are with you.. Sandi
