Dad passed on Sunday

Just wanted to let everyone know my dad passed on Sunday at 6:05 here in his room 

and went very peacefully. He is now in Heaven dancing with my my brother and sitting at

the feet of Jesus! I feel so lost and empty!!!!! He lived in my home for the past year 

and a half, and required my attention 24/7 for the past 5 weeks. This website is so

wonderful and was very comforting. Lots of good info and encouragement here! Thank you

to everyone. My dad fought a long hard battle over the past 15 years, (liver disease,

throat cancer, prostate cancer, ESLF, then ultimatley liver cancer) My children had plans  

for Sun. I knew (had that feeling)they said goodbye before they left. So my wonderful

mother-in-law took them in for the night. Its just so different around here, I feel so lost

with my time, and I keep having visions of mine and my dads daily routine. I find comfort

only knowing he is no longer in any pain, he is in Heaven! My heart goes out to everyone

having to deal with this disease it is so ugly! God Bless you all and Thank you!

{{{{{{Kelly}}}}}I know how sad you must be, but at the same time relieved that he is no longer suffering.  In time, perhaps you would like to come back and share with others what you have learned on this journey.  You are always welcome here.

Your Dad's suffering is over. In that way it is a blessing. But your family will take time to heal. Some who have lost their loved ones continue to post as they grieve. I hope you do too. There are many of us caregivers who are likely not far behind you in this process!

My Dad died at home too...Congestive Heart Failure, I posted about it a while ago. I knew we did the right thing to have him home with us. But I kept thinking that he could have lasted longer if I'd done a better job of caring for him. I needed some time to realize I'd given my time 24/7 for a year, my health, my home, my love and he'd had the best transition ever. I got over that, but it took a while!

Boomer, I just lost my significant other to liver complications on Monday. I feel your pain ...many prayers of strength and faith to you.

just remember that people never really die because they have loved, and because they have loved they live on in the hearts of the people they have touched. your dad will always be with you.
