What does Mild Heterogeneous Liver mean?

Hello, I am not sure if I am in the correct forum but I have a question to post. My wife has had some mild discomfort in her right side - she went to the Doctor and he ordered an ultrasound of her gallbladder. The test came back as "mild heterogeneity of the liver". She is scheduled to see a gastro doctor next week for further evaluation. In the meantime we are very concerned. We have done web search of this without much luck. Can anyone explain what this means?

Welcome, Freinds (or did you mean Friends?) I had to go to my Taber's for this one. It looks like she has some unusual cells in her liver. This could be something or nothing. Hopefully, the GI doc will order a CT scan for a definitive diagnosis. When she has a diagnosis, please come back and let us know. It's hard to comment when we don't know what she is dealing with.

thank you for the info, it is "freinds" by the time I realized I misspelled friends I already was well established on healing well so I left it that way. Anyway I also read that a CT scan may be the next step we just want to gather as much info as possible until then.

Hi there! I just had an ultrasound my results also said mild heterogeneity of hepatic echo texture possibly representing mild patchy infiltration.
I am worried abou this that it may be cirrhosis.
Did you ever find out what caused your wide to have this?
