I think threads are only to be four pages long before a new one should be started.  I can't remember why but one of the mod's will be able to tell you.

I have only just got home from work so later on tonight I will email you some stuff on Insulin resistance.  Here is a link to an old article about it. I thought I would post it in case anyone else with Hep C is interested.

I have not treated as yet I only have minimal liver damage, normal ALT & all my other blood tests are fine as well (at the moment, I know that can change)   I figure I have time to wait until new drugs come to Australia. By that time my children will be a bit more independant and I will feel a bit more comfortable about treating. Until then I learn as much as I can so I am the best advocate for me :)

Sandia, Thanks for the information. I don't remember how long it has been since I have posted anything. I received some bad news about 4 days ago and haven't felt like doing much, I needed to deal with the reality that someone I loved for many years, died, ten years ago, and I didn't know it so It is like it just happened. My appointment with Gastro Specialist is June 9th. I have been hurting on my left side, under my rib cage. It comes and goes. I will feel a lot better when I know what I am up against. I think the not knowing increases the concern. All of you have been a tremendous help and great source of information during this time. I do feel Rick's absence, he was like EF Hutton. If anyone can advise to pain on left side(Spleen?) I would appreciate it.

welll we have other resident experts also.. from all ends of this journey..ull know better soon what that pain is... and just knowing will help... yes its not easy when u find out someone has died... and doesnt matter that it was years ago... the emotion is today for you and very fresh...I have had people like that in my life too... who I felt I should have known he/she had passed away... but I didn't because our lives just took separate paths... its not easy to deal with and comes with many regrets... very sorry for your loss.. my prayers are with you today... Mitzi, we like to keep threads at 4 pages long, so they are easier to read and look back through, rather than just let them go on and on.  You can start another thread yourself by hitting New Topic (instead of Reply) and giving it a title.  Otherwise, one of the mods will do it.

I have started over in my life more times than I can remember.  Now being evaluated for transplant, it's kind of like starting over yet AGAIN.

You are right about age discrimination.  I started experiencing that prior to all my medical problems, around age 55 (though I always looked 10 years younger than my actual age, prior to all the surgeries I had (8 major ones in 7 years.)  That took a toll.
