when i start the interferon for hep-c.

 i am already sick w/ other stuff and they told me that my bl ood had over 2 million virises in it...!

 what ever that means. all i know is that i feel lik i am gona die any minute and i wouldnt much care at this point.

i know that sounds alful but its true, and i love my life, i just am so tired of being sick and tired.

i expect alot of you all feel the same way at times. this will pass i know.

I was recently diagnosed with Hep C. I will start the Pegasys treatment hopefully on June 24, 2005. I'm excited to start the treatment, but also a little scared. My count was only 35,000 so it sounds like I just have a good chance of being cured, as long as I'm a responder. I work part time and have two boys, one with Down Syndrome. My biggest concern is just getting healthy again so I'm not so tired all the time.

Welcome! I have completed Hep C treatment. I recently had my 6 month viral load count and I am still undetectable. What Genotype do you have. Did you have a biopsy to check for liver damage? I am Genotype 4A, had mild inflammation but lots of symptoms, fatigue, joint pain, etc. It is a scary thing to start treatment, in most cases it is not as bad as the stories you hear. Being young gives you a better chance for a cure.

the last time i had a biopy was years and years ago. then all was ok. but now , they saw over 2 and one half millon viruses in my bloodstream. im not sure what that means, but they want to start the interferon now. i am almost 51 with alot of other health problems already. now they have found perhaps barretts and a hernia and other stuff along w/ existing problems i deal with.
it dont look good does it?

It may not be as bad as you think.  I have GERD, arthritis, fibromyalgia (maybe), had lots of pain and fatigue.  yeah    Not as fatiged now but still have arthritis, pain, and yes, GERD.  I am just barely 52, Female.  Also on antidepressant medications, high blood pressure meds.  I do feel much better now.  I probably had hepatitis for 25 + years before I was even diagnosed.  Mostly ignored by doctors, they felt I was some kind of a neurotic woman.  :-)    THey were wrong.  Do not give up.  Are you on medication for GERD. . . sometimes I get the worse chest pain from it.  The first time it happened I felt like I was having a heart attack.

thanks for your info. i just started the meds for gerd. some kind of alful tasting stuff i have to drink in 2 tbls spoons of water... ugh!! and nexium.
