check with your doctor regarding the multi vitamin. my husband was told to take one WITHOUT iron.

UTD - The same thing happened to me. I had severe anxiety and depression. I was on 20mg of lexapro and needed 2 - 3 mg of xanax just to sleep. I couldn't work or do anything for that matter. I was completely helpless. Don't let this consume you as it did me. I know its much easier said than done. What you have to do is just come to accept the fact that you might have some scarring but if you make the right life choices now, hopefully it will not be a problem in the future. Remember there is nothing you can do about the past so just accept that you made a mistake and move on. You are healthy now so just try to enjoy life.

HN, I amended my previous post to MV WITHOUT iron. I believe daily vit. C is good for everyone, as it boosts the immune system. I very, very seldom catch a cold.

UTD, I would like to say that some people have had bad side effects from Prozac and because of that it is not prescribed as much as it once was. So let your doctor know if you start to experience bad side effects. Also, Prozac is an antidepressant, not an anti-anxiety med (like Xanax) and it sounds like what you need is an anti-anxiety med.

You can have completely normal liver enzymes AND cirrhosis. Any increase in enzymes should be investigated further.

I take a product called Hep Helper which is vitamins and milk thistle. Dr. approves, says he's  neither for nor against milk thistle. I'd say its individual, just don't waste your money if you don't think it helps.  & NO IRON.

I am going back to doctor as Prozac not helping. I had a freak out moment today and cant get my mind off of how I killed myself by drinking. I made an appointment for some blood work tomorrow to ease my mind but relapsedagain just stated that one can have normal blood work and still have cirrhosis. This scares me to death as i am going to the doctor to ease my mind. Hep 93 you mentioned that your tests showed elevated liver enzymes early on. My concern is I no longer have nausea or pain but when I bend over feels like something there. My last ultra sound was in march and showed normal liver and haven't really drank much since then except for may when I way over indulged. For some reason I though normal ultrasound meant I could party hardy(no longer believe that) still haven't touched a beer since June 23. The only thing that helps ease my mind is normal scope of stomach. I can barely function with this anxiety and cant stand it.

It just takes time. It took me several months to get over it. I really wouldn't recommend going for more tests unless it is a biopsy. I had bloodwork, ultrasound, liver/spllen scan and ct scan with contrast and they all came back normal. The only thing you can take from that is that you do not have serious liver disease. Cirrhosis only shows on these scans in advanced stages.

UTD, my liver enzymes were elevated early on because I had hep C.  You don't.

You didn't "kill yourself" drinking, since you are still here and apparently don't have any serious damage.  Stay off the alcohol and I think you will be just fine.  Tell the doctor that you need an anti-anxiety med, not an antidepressant.

OK thanks Woody and Hep. I hate to be complaining about my situation I am driving wife crazy. Both of you have been very helpful because I am driving myself crazy and am basically worthless right now. I honestly believe I had either mild alcoholic hep or like woody very little fibrosis. You are prob right about the tests woody since you have been there. I just had a freak out moment today that spun way out of control and made myself sick. Anxiety really sucks big time. I only have myself to blame though so I guess I will have to get through it. Woody is right... trying to move forward and stop dwelling on the past cant go back and un- drink any beers.

Thanks hep93 got some Xanax the other day and huge diff. I am able to function way better on those.
