I have been working in KY on a contract assignment for 3 weeks. I hated leaving Phil at home alone, but we desperately need the $. about
a week ago, he started sounding really bad, tired and weak, when I talked to him on the phone. On Monday, I finished up my job, and it was a good thing. My sister called me and told me I needed to get home right away, that Phil was not doing well at all. So, I drove straight through from Lexington to St Pete, and when I got home he looked terrible. He has lost 35lbs in 5 weeks!! When we went to PA, for his evaluation, they increased his diuretics, due to his water retention. So, as soon as I got up this morning, I called his doctor, and she was with a patient, so I left a message, detailed message. She called him, and as soon as she heard his voice, she told him to get to the ER right away. He is severly dehydrated and also has an infection in his colon. So, they gave him some IV fluids, not alot, and some antibiotics, and put him in a room about
8:30 tonight. Hopefully, he will be well enough to come home tomorrow.
While I was there I went to see his doctor, and she said when all of the Acities was gone, he should have called her so she could adjust the diuretics. That he waited to long to tell her how he was feeling, and thats why he was so dehydrated. She knows I took that job in KY, and why, so she wants me to make sure he knows not to let it get this bad before he calls her. She's going to check on him regularly by phone now, when she knows I am out of town. She is a wonderful doctor, and a super human being!!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, i was reading and keeping up with everyone, just busy and didn't post.
