transplant soon :)

Starting new post as for the other was up to four pages , husband is still in ccu for the weekend..Monday I think they will move him to transplant floor ..liver docs are the only team that will be seeing him for now . I spent the morning with the kids this morning..got to hosptial around lunch time ..his breakfast tray wasn't touched and when lunch came I tried to get him to eat but he wanted nothing to do with it ..I did get him to drink the ensure although he wasn't happy . He is complaining of his stomach..it is definitelyextended . But he hasn't had a bowel movement since yesterday and that is with me making well
forcing him to take lacoluse every 4 hours . He still hasn't gone and they might have to stimulate him to try to get him to go . There were three areas in his bowel that seemed to have issues that was see. In cat scan but there's nothing they can do about them at this point . Hopefully he will go soon . Meld score is still 39 and surgeon said he is first to get liver at our hospital ....unless someone else gets worst then him. All he wanted to do was sleep today and very grouchy ....so I didn't stay long at hospital..just long enough to make him take two doses of laculose

Sorry ..that meant " kids " ...nothing for pain because of his liver condition unless necessary . He is normally a good eater ...but his stomach is so bloated he doesn't even want some of his favorite foods ...once he uses the bathroom he should feel better . It is crazy how in two weeks he can be so different but he has been at deaths bed a few times over the past five months ...we joke that he's. Cat with nine lives ...he is definitelya fighter . With his meld being so high he is so yellow ..well really Orange . Through all this he has really been a trooper and has had a good attitude ..only grouchy when he is really feeling bad ....I'm so excited that this is the beginning of getting my best friend back ... I know we still have a long road ahead of us but its something to look forward too !!!!

Elle I can hear/read/see your smile at the thought of getting your best friend back. That is so great. Hoping that the call comes SOON!

Well we are still at hospital since he is so sick..saw the liver surgeon this morning he said just hang in there that we would probably just stay in ccu til the. Liver arrives ..so itsjust a sit and wait thing now ..:doc said with his meld so high and his blood type we should get a liver by tues or wed of this week ...just praying he can stay stable the way he is now ..for his window of being well is so short
.not that I wish someone to pass but its such a great gift to give someone else another chance at life . I totally look at organ donating differently

elle, good news that your hubby will hopefully get his transplant in the next few days, praying for everything to start slowly getting better for you both!!

Believe me so many feeling ..happy for us ...nervous of what can happen ..excited that its finally happening and so sad for the family who lost there loved one ....gonna try to rest up the next day or so ...

Everything still pretty calm here ..they moved us to transplant floor and now he will. Go down three days a week to get quick dialysis.......all labs are still the same and he is breathing all on his own ..........so now we wait til the liver is available....hopefully its soon as I'm so excited ...his sister flys back home tomorrow....geez that's a whole other. Story there .......ugh

Hello Elle, I am new to this forum, I have just conquered cancer and have moved on to hep c treatment... I was just reading about your husband and wanted to offer an additional prayer!! Hang in there...the wait will be soooo worth it...to get your best friend..your love...back....what a beautiful gift it'll be!!! Good luck to you and your family.
