Hepatitis C sucks

Varise are no fun ...my hubby had his first major issue with this ..I found him and bathroom in a pool of blood ..barely breathing..he was rushed to hospital his hemogobin was 3 .....I can't even explain how scary and how many transfusion he had ..doc said he wasn't going to make it .. they transported him to transplant hospital banded the bleed and did tips procedure..it saved his life ....I knew he had Varise from upper gi ..but had no clue how serious it can be ....anyone who has them ..first site of vomiting blood ..go to er ....my husband was stubborn and almost lost his life .....

Thanks for the correction, Connie. I'm noticing that the spelling and writing here has sunk to a third grade level of late. Doesn't anyone know how to spell the name of their meds or medical problems. It's apparent that posters don't read their messages before posting them. Otherwise they'd see how hard they are to understand. I've stopped replying to incoherent posts.

I agree about those English speakers, but that is the exception, rather than the rule. I understand typos, too. Most of this is due to laziness and refusal to take the time to reread your own posts. Arnold hates me saying these things, but he is intelligible even when speaking French. If people don't care enough to write clearly, why should I care enough to give them an answer.

Maybe some of us are just bad typists!!LOL!!

My youngest child (11yrs ADHD,PTSD, ASD,ODD) will never be able to read or write to the standards which are required by some on this board. It makes me sad to think that in years to come he may seek help on a board such as this and be made to feel a fool as he may not communicate as well as others. If you can understand what the person is asking it does not matter if the drug, condition etc is spelt correctly. I have no trouble understanding posts with poor spelling, grammar here.....a full stop or misspelt word does not hamper me from reading a post. Correcting posters on this board for their spelling, etc stops people seeking support and help. This board should be for everyone not just the well educated.

I graduated at the top of my 3rd grade class , As far as I know hawgs aren't typically intelligible characters anyhow . Not that I would expect you superior minded folk to read , care or understand the challenges of my breed but if nothing else I plead with you to exclude me also for the hoof typing issue alone .


Now on a more serious note . I personally despise cell phones or texting machines because it breeds the degradation of language skills , But it is part of " modernization " in today's society . If you lack the ability , time or interest to blend in to that " technology " then good for you I say . However lack of acceptance to change as proven by history has seen civilizations go extinct . Hell , even the Amish use modern conveniences to a extent today .

Good thing Connie and David got a transplant , Perhaps they will save society from the idiot onslaught of the future one forum poster at a time . The caped librarian crusaders .

It does rattle me that folks don't see how this looks , but I don't intend to correct every ones grammar , Not here in this forum or in my personal life . I can decipher most of what people are saying here , I don't blame individuals for my perception of them being illiterate simply because I wouldn't want that to be what others define me here as being . I try to help others with Liver disease and make them laugh and think . SURELY IDIOTIC THINKING IS FAR WORSE THAN THE SPELLING OF A WORD .

I understand that this subject galls the buttocks of our two " Caped Crusaders " but that goes to their personalities and peeves . Again I say is this a liver disease forum or a source for your need to obsess over petty spelling infractions ? What is your priority ? Education on Liver disease does extend to learning the correct terms but at what price will you trade off spelling over the concern of battling the disease ?

I have often found it time consuming and tedious trying to decipher a post with many misspellings. I agree with David that a lot of this is laziness. We get new members here all the time who don't have knowledge of liver disease or its terms. If they see varices spelled as varis, they are going to assume that's the correct spelling. And so the error gets duplicated. If a poster has dyslexia or another communication disability, sharing that information will get that member a pass.

I know there are 2 camps: Those of us who think it's very important to be able to correctly spell terms related to one's disease, as well as meds, and those who feel it doesn't matter. I don't think either group is going to budge in its position. I have let this issue slide for several months, but when the problem continually worsens, I get to the point where I have to say something.

Pork scented candle , Is that honey ham or the traditional hog pen in July scents ? Where do you get a Kosher version of either ? I recently converted to Judaism and prefer to get started on the right hoof or foot as you humans say . By the way a Mohel is stopping by tomorrow and says we have a few things to discuss . Seems like a nice fella but not sure what he has to do with me converting .

I just went and looked at 3 other Healing Well subjects, Alzheimer's Disease, Anxiety - Panic, and Depression. I read 5 different posts for each (all the replies). Compared to the posts here, all those folks must be Harvard graduates. I have to conclude that having hepatitis, or being a caretaker for someone with it, makes one unable to correctly write a coherent sentence.

You know better than that. It has everything to do with caring about other people understanding what you are saying. Probably some sow gave you a tough time as a shoat, so you object to me asking people to write posts that don't need translation. Whatever...
