hey thanks for replying, i quess if i had not of been in two rehabs and through relapses to suffer this nasty disease, and to suddenly realise that IT WILL KILL ME, then i wouldnt be here 2004 days today sober and healing well.(ecuse the pun.) but i shant get complaicent as i have an alcoholic monster in me all the time wanting to be fed. so im v caustious. but its tough, very tough as u all well know!! ill keep coming back to this forum cause other addicts r like family to me, make me stronger...

Angie, the average person thinks it's a matter of will power, but it's just the opposite. It's admitting one is totally powerless against alcohol and one's life has become unmanageable. It's complete surrender and recognizing that only our Higher Power and working the Twelve Steps can restore us to sanity.
