Thanks Dany - yes I too escaped the diabetes but got most of the other presents from pred. Budesonide was very much better but did give me migraines. Hardly the end of the world but annoying long term.
I confess I have moved away too from all this 'taking extra care' advice. I think you quickly realise whether or not the immunosuppressants are going to knock you sideways in which case you are ultra careful or else all they are doing is switching part of your over active immune system off. So if you are in the latter group then my motto is to carry on as normal, including changing cat litter etc! I usually travel on public transport for 5 hours a day to and from work (now you can see why I am looking forward to retirement
) surrounded by hundreds of hot sweaty people - such joy. So I reckon if I can survive that without catching constant infections then I am OK with pretty much anything else. My hep is very happy with this approach.
Well done on the gym. One of my post retirement pledges is to get fit and lose the weight that piled on through pred, laziness etc. I am currently recovering from surgery on my back so it will need to wait a few weeks but pretty soon I can hit the gym in earnest - and have the freedom to go at quieter times of the week.
