I have to comment on this because I know I am an offender of grammar errors. I went to Catholic grade school with Nuns that would hit you with yard sticks and tell you to correct your grammar. Maybe it's my way of subconsciously rebelling or I'm just overwhelmed with everything going on and worrying about my mother dying that using a word properly or spelling a word wrong is really low on my things to worry about. People come here for help not a grammar lesson. wink

I would amend my post to say "most" dictionaries have the word loosing. A simple google search will reveal that it is indeed in common usage.

however, who give's a rat's petooooot???? not everyone can spell correctly for one reason or the other. people need help not grammar lessons... I agree people need to spell correctly to google the right info but to express themselves in a post... just let the people go...free to post... well now that's my take on it...

I agree with the prior post. I have said this before people are hurting, dying, and seeking help and direction not a grammar lesson. I have to apologize for my elaboration. I couldn't resist. I do like word trivia and recently purchased an expensive dictionary.

Most of the bad spelling and grammar here is due to laziness on the part of those posting. Doesn't anyone reread what they write, before hitting the submit button? I feel like I screwed up if someone can't understand what I wrote. On HW, people seem to think it's the readers fault if they don't understand it. As far as "people need help not grammar lessons." It's hard to help, if you're unable to understand what's being said. I'm on a transplant forum and the spelling is far better than here.

I have bigger things to worry about than grammar at the moment, if it offends someone so be it. In the grand scheme of things...this is nothing. Be happy and let things that really affect (is that the right word?) your life piss you off. wink

I agree with Mr Ziffle!! This is a forum about helping people who are sinking, sometimes very quickly, from the side effects of Liver decease or taking care of someone with it. If spelling a word correctly is such an issue . . . for real??

As i previously stated . . when your are physically and emmotionally worn out nobody really gives two hoots how the word lose is spelled as long as the point is made!! Being critical of people looking for help, over a spelling error or even a typo, to me sounds very petty!! When I was corrected or asked about the spelling of a word, which was actually a typo, I felt smacked in the face, and did not post for weeks.

Can we put this to bed and not be soo critical of people that are possibly lacking in education, too tired or worn out to care, or just had a typo in the post!!

Just have to wonder what the point in this utter nonsense is ? In the end it won't change the minority who labels everyone as ignorant or lazy for any violation of grammar . Nor will it likely sway the majority labeled as lazy or ignorant . The internet is a big place and if telling jokes is your forte then find a place where thats what they do , If you find a forum that has acceptional writers or posters by all means go there and speak ill of this forum if you please .

Each and every person here has flaws , Some are not visable through the keys of a computer but rest assured you are flawed . Nobody deserves to get called stupid or lazy ( or insinuated ) for a spelling error . For people who are obsessed with spelling you seem to have completely missed the boat on compassion for others . Just me , But I'll take compassion over your spelling issues any day .
