Janie is gone

Janie gave up her battle with liver disease and passed from this world this morning at 8:30AM

Thank all of you for your prayers and kind wishes. She is no longer suffering and is in a better place.

Oh, Charlie. ): I know I speak for all of us when I say I'm so, so sorry. She fought the good fight, but now she can rest. Please don't be a stranger. Drop in and let us know how you are doing. When you are up to it, you would be a valuable asset to our Caregivers thread...so something good can come from something so sad. Once the immediate plans are completed, you can also rest. I know what a toll her disease took on you over so many months.

Charlie, when you didn't post first thing, I feared this would be the news. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family at this sad time. I hope your wide network of HW friends have provided some support during this difficult time. The next days will be hard, God Bless....

I am so very sorry to learn this. I could "hear" how much you loved Janie in each of your posts. She was very blessed to have you as her caregiver.

Oh Charlie,

I am so so sad to hear this.  She was such a strong lady and you are an amazing husband.  You are right, she can finally rest now in a better place.

 We are so sorry to hear of Janie's passing.  She gave it one hell of a fight and now she isn't suffering anymore and is at peace.

I have been following your journey closely for the last couple of weeks. As a patient with this devastating disease, I am overwhelmed by the love and care you gave your wife. My sincerest sympathies to you and your family on your loss.

Charlie,

I am so sorry. It is still so fresh for me, I don't know what to say. My heart is just so broken for you. I thought I could get through today without crying, but it is just not to be. I will keep you lifted up in prayer and try to be comforted that the world  that Craig and Janie know now is perfect and without pain.

Charlie , My deepest condolences to you and the family . You Sir are living example of the depth of love it takes to see things through no matter the situation , A true rarity nowadays amongst mankind . From my family to yours , Best of wishes .

Charlie, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't think of anything to say to you that hasn't already been said in the above posts. I want to say a special thank you to you for taking the time to keep us posted along the way. I hope my husband never goes through what Janie did, but if he does I hope can support and care for him the way you did Janie.

So so sorry about you losing Janie. Thanks for sharing with all of us here. Keep in touch with us. All caregivers can learn from your experiences. Hope you find comfort knowing that Janie is now without pain. Best to you.

I'm very sorry about Janie, Charlie, and very saddened by this news. Having read through your previous posts, I can see that you and Janie both had much courage and strength through this. You're in my thoughts during this tough time.

To all of my wonderful healing well friends...........

I just want to again thank everyone for your uplifting messages and prayers. I'm keeping my belief  that Janie is no longer suffering and is with her Lord. She was a devoted Christian lady who loved her Lord. I hope to re-join her someday as I loved her dearly.

Her funeral is Monday morning in Fort Worth. After all this is over with I will try my best to keep posting in hopes that my experiences as a care giver may help someone else through this roller coaster journey.

We prayed for a transplant, but after Janie's kidneys and liver failed early thursday morning she left this earthly life and went to heaven.

Charlie, thanks for posting. We were all wondering if you were doing okay. Do continue posting when you are able. You will be a great asset to those still involved in caregiving and also honor Janie at the same time.

Liver Disease is a really bad final illness.

Janie was so fortunate to have had you in her life. 

Best to you and your family.  Monday will be a really hard day.

Janie had a beautiful service yesterday, lots of flowers and many friends and relatives. At 62 years of age she was the baby of five sisters and one brother so you can only imagine the number of relatives that attended from far and wide. We had to use the dining room of a VFW hall to feed lunch just to family members.

I know she is resting in peace now with no pain and suffering..........now to get along with my life as it will never be the same without her....she was the love of my life, but I will survive.

I have so much on my "to do" list today to finish settling up her affairs I don't know where to begin, but I will get it done.

I plan to continue here as I might be of assistance to a patient or care-giver just starting this journey. I have personally witnessed every thing you can imagine relating to liver disease, from beginning symptoms to bitter end. We did everything by the book, but unfortunately Janie never got the new lease on life with a transplant.

Charlie, it's so good to hear from you and to know that you are "okay," even though life will never be the same for you. It's gratifying to know you had the support of family and friends yesterday. I think the hard part is still ahead...once her affairs are settled and all the busy work attended to. Do be sure to check into the Caregivers thread. Your experience can certainly benefit others. And we are here for you, also.
