I am a post liver transplant with Hep C. I was wondering if anyone has heard of someone with post liver transplant taking the raspberry ketone? I am interested in this, but am trying to do research on it before I bring it up to my dr.

Hi Silo, we haven't heard from you in a while.

How is the battle going post transplant. You said you might do treatment for the returning Hep C. did you?

I have no experience with Rasberry Ketone at all.

My partner had transplant in 2011, but is doing well. He is anticipating treatment in 2013. Fingers crossed.

First, ask your doctor. I looked RK up and it sounds as if it's not particularly bad for you in small doses. Are you trying to lose weight, as that's what it's mostly used for? I don't take any over the counter meds like that, because they're not controlled by the FDA. Milk thistle is in the same category as far as my hepatologist is concerned.

I know about not taking over the counter meds. I always clear things with my transplant team first. But I do like to do research on things before I ask. It's like that Sensa. I researched that before I asked and found that it can cause bowl obstruction. So, I didn't even ask. So, was just wondering if anyone had heard anything. Thank you for replying.
