The appointment is soon and my head is spinning. If anyone has info on any questions, can you please post them asap? I am positive for R/A, Cryoglobulinemia, Pre-Diabetes, and Hepatitis C. :(

I have no other posts yet and will do an Intro after today but if anyone can help..it's appreciated.
I am grateful to everyone for the awesome support and caring & information.

Hi, Renee. I wish you had posted sooner. I'd focus on the hep C today. What kind of doctor are you seeing? Hopefully, a hepatologist or at least a GI doc. You need to talk about treatment options.

Pre-diabetes can be reversed with weight loss and diet. For the cryoglobulinemia, you should see a hematologist, and a rheumatologist for the RA.

           hey nana,     it would be very helpful if you can give us more info on your hep c.   all your bloodwork, biopsy, etc. 

            hep c, ra, and cryo can all be related.  ra and cryo can be extrahepatic manifestations( hep c symptoms outside the liver).  but that is for your dr to conclude. 

             connies advice is mine as well.  see a liver doc.  treating the hep c sucessfully,  may resolve the ra and cryo.  this is interesting, let us know how things go.

Ok, so I went. Like you both said, at this point my Rheum. said I cannot be treated by him until I treat the Hep C.
I am going to do a 'new' person's intro. in the next few days since unfortunately a lot of health issues are on the plate. (heck, my hubby calls me Transformer 2 cause it's 2nd time I've received 42screws in my back).

          hi nana,   RA is a autoimmune disorder.  auto issues are usually treated with immunosupressive drugs and steroids, which can injure your liver significantly.  i saw a article about a newly approved RA drug called xeljang.   there was a black box warning on it saying that people with hep b and c should not use, and that it can reactivate hep b and c, that has resolved.   hmmmmmm

I can't begin to say how awesome you are for sharing this info. I've been working on the Intro but w/daily doctors(hubby & I) and fatigue (fell asleep @ computer)its hard. After 24 viles of blood between 3 doctors, I'll have the data to enter on site, in Intro.

Have not had a Biopsy yet. Just finished a liver-spleen scan which should show exact damage excluding cancer. Seeing the hepatologist Wed.for results from this, blood work & Rheumatologist notes(wherein he discusses treatment due to possible Cryo).

Do you share these autoimmune issues? You seem so informative. With my concentration & memory, as soon as I leave a web site, I'll forget what I need to learned, unless I print it-loads of brain farts LOL. Found a note from a Dr. dated 2008 to follow up on ammonia. On ammonia, never did - I FORGOT! Now on Lactulose but do not know if I can get back the brain cells that probably died.

Lactulose is for the effects of high ammonia, such as fogginess and forgetfulness. Just because you weren't taking it, doesn't mean your brain cells died...just that they were acting in an optimal way, due to the toxin buildup.

We have several people here with autoimmune hepatitis, including one of the moderators, Dany. You can put AIH in the Search box and bring up posts on this disease.

Looking forward to your intro and lab results.
