Mike wouldn't eat much
He hated anything flavorful
We kept Ensure or Glycerna in a couple of flavors around
He did like eggs but cooked without seasonings at all. He called them bare eggs. I am prone to make scrambled eggs with omelet type add ins. Nope. Too flavorful
He liked canned fruit. Check labels. No high fructose corn syrup.
He like applesauce in the individual containers
And he had yogurt almost every day -- again read labels.
He swore off salads, pizza, most veggies, anything flavorful
He would nibble at chicken. No beef...he could feel it lie around undigested
One of our posters made smoothies and put fruits and veggies that he liked
Mike would not do flavors but would drink milk shakes (vanilla plain). So milk is good and checking ingredients on the ice cream to avoid the hfcs.
He would eat a couple kinds of cereal. Period. And several kinds of rice and potatoes.
I used to joke that he had reverted to his babyhood. Think about
it. The things you give babies...formula, cereal, fruits, then strained veggies, then meat last.
I made homemade chicken soups with veggies that got soft and mushy. If I snuck seasonings in there he would not be hungry. Plain plain
And that was it
Mike is the chef at our house. Making the meals was a chore for me. But we settled in. He lost a lot of wt. But that's liver disease.
Good luck
Carol
