Hi Defbass,
My husband treated twice and the first shot is bad, but then he felt better after a day, nearly normal by day 3. That happened for about 3 weeks. As time progressed, he got more ill each week, longer periods each time. He took the full dose for the entire period, even while hospitalized with complications. The rash was horrid the first time, not that bad the 2nd. Basically, he would rebound for shorter and shorter periods of time the first two months.
Month 3-6, my husband was bedridden, except for about an hour first thing in the morning. He was cold all the time. So, the answer is yes. Both times he was very ill, but worse the 2nd time. He could not have worked, could not drive, could not sit at the table. He quit getting dressed, just changed sweats. The riba rage got bad about week 5, so if your doc did not put you on antidepressant, you may want to know this info. It made his personality normalize again. My husband was working his first treatment (at 55 yrs). He "had" to work, and thought he could do the protocol and work. He cut his dose down per doc, so he could work. The treatment failed. My husband had to file disability the 2nd (61 years), but did obtain SVR. Keep us posted. I have heard worse stories than my husband's ....and some better. Best to you. Much luck. Hugs, themiz
