I dont have withdrawals no, and I can say no. Liquor has stayed untouched in my fridge for days. Its just that I still like to party with friends, etc. I think I can free my self of this by distancing myself from those people.
Hi Lizardd, I am in recovery for 29 years and I think the hardest part was making new friends to socialize with, I was 26 when I stopped drinking, not for health reasons, but because my addiction had brought me to my knees. What I found for myself, was that the people I thought were friends were really just drinking "buddies". Going to AA helped to fill that gap, I met a lot of people my own age and in time was able dance, "party" and have fun without alcohol.
I don't know if this is your situation but if you think about
it, with the consequences of your use of alcohol so devastating, having a hard time staying away from it when you are out with your friends, may be an indication of alcohol problem. Going to a program may help you understand that better. All the best to you.
