Hello from the UK, just to introduce myself briefly - married 60 year old with 2 sons one granddaughter, diagnosed 1989, two attempts at treatment, two relapses, transplant in 2009. Moderate fibrosis at last biopsy.
Think I MAY be up for trial with Sofusbuvir and Ledipasvir (where do they get these rubbish names??) will hear maybe Monday. Scared and so excited, and happy to have found you guys with so much information, I have been hunting all over the virtual world to get some facts.
Love to all out there on the journey, my consultant says there is no longer light at the end of the tunnel, we are now actually in the tunnel and coming through! x

Hi Michael,
Hoping your trial comes through. all we are reading says this combo, with and without the old drugs, shows great promise.
My partner, Mike, is also hoping to hear his trial comes through for the same drugs this week. did you see the post from EzAl? He has done well with the S&L combo!
Mike is 2.5 years post TP and hoping to slay the dragon once and for all.
Keep us posted about
whether you get in, and how it is going. Plenty here are anxious for news...good, bad and inbetween.
Best,
Mama Lama

Thank you, glad to be here and will keep you posted for sure. I am due to hear something on Monday when I go to see new consultant. I only got the hint that I might be up for trial because Cardiology called today to give me an appointment for work up, which they said 'had to be done by the 20th Jan'. Never been to cardiology except pre-transplant, and heart is healthy, so something is going on. Trying to keep calm, but it's a bit like being waiting to be chosen to be on a game show with million dollar possible win! So many hoops to jump, but keep your fingers crossed for me. x

Michaela, welcome! I REALLY hope you get accepted into this trial. My name has also been submitted. It's the very best thing out there right now. I had a TP 2 yrs. ago and hep C is loving my new liver.
Please keep us updated.
Hugs,
Connie

thank you for your warm welcomes! And I am a girl, it is Michaela! Yes, Hep C is chomping away on my new liver too, but as I have geno 3 it has also kindly layered it with a load of fat too. Hmph.
By the way, did anyone else on Prograf put on weight, I gained 25 lbs and cannot shift it whatever I do.
Best of luck Connie, maybe we will be going through it together! let's hope xx

No, but I take a very low dose...0.5 mg twice a day. My hair texture has changed and my skin become drier.
Hugs,

yes, I was taking triple that, but they have reduced me to the same dose as you, but doesn't seem to have helped, but maybe it takes time. do you take Azathioprine too? I am wondering how much I can reasonably cut down on the meds before any possible tx. what geno are you?

No, I've never been on Azathioprine. I'm geno 1a.
