After completing my addiction counseling certificate in June, I enrolled in my Phd program in July. Torie came to live with me again. She enrolled in her EMT course. I've been working as a vocational facilitator at a pilot program for a non-profit. Her classes are going well and mine are also. She will be done long before I will. Just thought I'd drop a line. Overall things are going well. I'm not happy with the non-profit who lied to me about
salary etc. I'll be fine though. God has us.
I'm always thankful for this group!

Sandi, thanks for the update! So glad to hear that things are going well in general. If you are truly unhappy with the pay, etc., at your current job...find another. With your qualifications, I wouldn't think it would be that hard.
Hugs,
Connie

Good luck with school.
I was 90% done with a PhD program in Education in 1972. Then has 2 babies in 18 months. Never got back to it and have always regretted not finishing. Keep at it!

I'm ready to just get a job that pays.. Connie.. I'm stuck in limbo with Wisconsin... Wisconsin does not accept most of my credentials. I'll be ok and yes I'll find another job. Thanks for the nice comments. I am in my third course of my Phd in e-learning. I want to teach online in retirement or before. I had a rough teacher last course but managed to pull through. Thanks again guys.

Connie I think of you often when I have a teacher who is tough on the APA style formatting. My last professor was just plain strange. Our first assignment was supposed to be an informal discussion of our professional backgrounds. I spoke with the professor and asked her if she wanted the paper APA formatted. She said it didn't matter because it was an informal paper. She then docked me harshly. I confirmed details with her on projects and then she docked me for following her recommendations. It was more detailed than that but I almost had to retake the class or drop out.
I resubmitted one paper. She gave me 24 hours to resubmit it. It was an intensive paper and I was just about
to go on vacation. I resubmitted the paper. I told her that 24 hours was not enough time to tweak it. Resubmitting that paper put the week's assignment behind schedule. I had to take work with me on vacation. I was camping and Torie and I were in a cabin. I was typing at 3 am in the bathroom. It was cold. this was the end of September. I put the space heaters on and blew the breakers. I sat in that dark cabin and cried and cried and cried. I thought we were going to have to go home the next day. We went home one day early. I typed the paper non-stop on Sunday.
The teacher gave me a passing grade on the paper I resubmitted. She asked me to resubmit it to her again to prove I could do APA formatting. I told her no that I had nothing to prove to her. I told her I was not able to bring it up to the level that was required in 24 hours. I knew the paper was rough and needed more editing. I got a B in the class. I took the grade and dusted myself off and moved on. I am enjoying my current class which is my first e-learning class.
Whew!!
I do think of you often Connie as I am editing my papers. My latest assignment was 100 per cent on APA formatting.

Tell this dummy what APA is. I do know what formatting is, sort of.
