hi again clb08, david is correct. only an RNA(ribo nucleic acid) test done by pcr can detect and quantify an active hep c infection. the test has been aruond since 1992, but newer technology as david said can detect the virus down to 2 copies per ml. your ob has confirmed this for you, as you said. your liver function tests are normal, so your enzymes and billirubin are fine, your liver is doing the job.
listen only to your OB and new liver doc. They will keep you in the best possible condition for your baby. congrats and best to you. and please keep us up to date on eveything
