Liver failure after SVR

Hi everyone,

iam a new member of this community and have some questions.

i had hcv for probaly more than 20 years,i treated 3 times,last time with Incevik wich finaly cured me from
Hep-c.
My 48 Week Treatment ended December 2012,and iam svr.

Biopsy in 2009 stated F3 already,thats when i started my 2 Treatment with Interferon/Ribavirin.Unfortunetley i did not clear the virus as i just partial responded.

As incevik became available i started round 3 and cleared.
But since i finished Treatment i felt/feel constantly more sick and sick.
So i wonder if i could expirience beginning of Liver failure

The last 15 Months i had several Ultrasounds,Fibroscans,and an MRi.None of them suggest signs Cirrhosis or portal Hypertension,my bloodwork is always normal with one exception,the bilirubin.
Its jumping up and down since one year from 16-32.last summer it was 33 few months later 15,now up again.
The elevation is mostly from indirect bilirubin,direct bilirubin is just slightly elevated or normal.
Gilbert Syndrome was tested-negative.

My Albumin,INR,Platelets are all well in the Normrange and my Docs are telling me my Liver will very likley stay stable or even improve,but i feel so sick and i have no Idea whats happen with me or what i can do.

Any Ideas or opinions on my Situation would be apreciated.

with feeling sick i mean,i have no appetite,nauseous.and pain and horrible depresion anxiety.

Are you being treated for the anxiety and depression? If not, I would start there for certain. Treating 3 times is pretty challenging, indeed. Some meds can increase the bili. One is Valium. Also, birth control pills, and seizure meds. Not certain if you are male or female ; )

I think you have something other than liver failure. You have a hepa at a transplant center....so this is very good news. Like Mama Lama, I wonder about gall bladder. Pain under right rib cage, nausea would be consistent. But a doctor would think to look into this, and perhaps has already. My husband treated with interferon/riba twice. During his 2nd treatment he had to have his gall bladder removed.

Like I said, I don't think it is liver. If you had 3 opinions by 3 hepa's at 2 transplant centers, it is time to take that dx (or lack of one) to heart.

Everything is not liver disease. Your MELD is not concerning, and you probably have annual visits to a hepa to keep an eye on things? Your depression needs to be addressed. Has it been? Welcome to the board. You have overcome a lot.

Don't loose hope. It sounds trite, but make certain to get outside and walk every day. This sounds easy, but with depression and anxiety, just getting outside and moving about can be an enormous challenge. Get the mental health professional to try some different meds for your depression, if what you take is not working. I am relieved to know 3 good doc's all confirm your liver is in good shape. hi xxer, i see you are from europe. your total billi reference range is 5.1 to 17. so your billi is going from normal to moderately high. with normal liver function tests, liver problems doesnt make sense.

i also treated twice with int/riba. my 3rd try was with incivek, 48 weeks because of cirrhosis. i also finished in dec of 2012, and cleared. i am doing fairly well. some of my cirrhosis markers, platelets and albumin are slowly improving.
