Please join me in congratulating retired on his thread. Shocked and amazed, I am. I am overjoyed for him and his family. I am grateful to the donor, donor's family, and all who selflessly donate. Please celebrate with him. Big Hugs boardies...

I love hearing about another successful transplant! And the fact that Ron is already up and posting is incredible. I am so happy for him and his wife. Modern medicine and an anonymous hero - what a combination!

My family and I thank you all for the great information and support that we have received for the past years from all of YOU. I really miss Connie and wish she could be here with us now, but I know that she is smiling from above for all of us to have a quick and easy turn around time as I did. It's 5am and I'm waiting for my blood to be draw. They moved me from ICU Yesterday to the transplant floor. I think that's one step closer to the door. Well I only got 15percent charge left on my kindle, so my wife will bring my charge at 8 or 9 this morning. Be back around then. God Bless Bless u-all Ron and Maggie

I am amazed. Your doing awesome. Where were you transplanted at?

Sounds like its worth a long drive for those in need.

3.5 hours, I am in awe. Cannot wait to hear how long until your home and how things go.

You never cease to amaze! Home possibly Wed? Unreal. You will get all of the upper's going up...and the downer's going down. Walking after abdominal surgery seems to help that problem ; )

Your HE must of been well managed. From reading others comments about transplant the quickest recovery seems to be those with no or very well managed HE.

Mama is right, others will be curious to know your meds and doses. You also mentioned a trial for Hep C to make sure you do not have it at all post transplant, are there any meds related to this??

So happy to read your updates. Will you be staying local to your transplant center once you are discharged or will you be going back home? In regards to the cough, the lungs usually get full of some yucky stuff due to the surgery... You should definitely use the breathing tool they give you to bring up all that yucky stuff so it doesn't sit in your lungs. Another good thing is to have someone cup their hands and pat your back a few times a day. Hope this info helps.

It is Thursday here in the real world, and I am assuming they sent you home yesterday or today and it will take a bit for you to get settled.

Mike took a tiny bit longer...in to ER for prep on a Friday night, TP Saturday, then in .ICU through Thursday, TP floor through the weekend, discharged the 2nd Monday. We stayed on a few days in a hotel so that the drive back wouldn't be so hard (125 miles) if he needed anything...they were keeping an eye on that drain and an internal hematoma that was not resolving. Then we went home about Wednesday or Thursday...

So you are still on a fast track.

We'll be hoping you can post a few words soon...though it is quite soon.

I talked to our "Connie" from the hospital after her TP and she was wired up really tight...all that prednasone.

Still hoping you can tell us about your meds.

Well hi everyone,, it's slow and fast pace here. It Thursday afternoon and I'm still here in the hospital,I got this wessing noise in my chest. Had an chest x-Ray, then a nuclear scan, and CT scan all by noon today. Finally the spotted a clot in my lower left chest, so they got me hooked to another medicine. This is to free the clot.

All my drains a are out. My sister had me laughing so hard when the doctor took the last one out. I thought she was going to pass out. She was white as a ghost. And had to leave the room until they were done. I couldn't stop laughing even though I had a little pain at the drainage. But now it looks like Saturday to get released. Maggie, the two granddaughters, and I thanks everyone. For all the kind words and prays.

The staff up here are wonderful people. I don't think I could have done it without any one of YOU. I have gained so much knowledge from each and everyone of YOU, before the transplant, I basically knew every step of the way before I had even arrived at the transplant hospital. I am on a regular diet now, but every thing tastes like salt, so strange. But I'm still keeping my hopes up high, and spirits cheerful, and wishes all I have gone thought helps others to take of of themselves while they are young people growing up. And not make the same mistakes that I did. God Bless everyone. Ron

Hi everybody, I'm out of the hospital, in a suite near the hospital. WOW all the information and all medicines.

Programf. 3 at 10am, and 3 at 10pm.
Cellcept. 2 am 2 pm.
Prednisone. Changes DAILY.
Bactrim. 1 at 10am.
Valcyte. 1 at 10am.
Urso Forte. 1 at 10am, and 1 at 10pm.
Multivitamin 1 at 10am.
Sovaldi. 1 at 10am.
Ribavirin. 3 at 10am, and 2 at 10pm.
Oracea. 1 at 10am.
Nexium. 1 at 10am.
Lovenox. 1 injection 10 am, am 10 pm. Be back in a few I to eat.

Themiz, yes the wheezing is the blood clot in my left lung. I take 2 shots DAILY of lovenox. 8mg each time under the fat line on my stomach, to thin my blood. Around 10 and 12 hours later.

The pain is tolerable. Just got to slow down and not rush anything. Remember that you are the pace sitter. Always double check what you need to do. A lot of writing information from the test you conduct, to information that you need for yours labs and clinical visits.

Are your labs daily, or how often right now? **How is Maggie?** I have a thousand questions I assume can only be answered when the time comes to experience it. Is the clot from the surgery or from the new liver? Where did it come from? If they released you, the shot should do the trick!!

Did you get a Mercedes scar? I hear those are pretty adorable. Themister thanks you and he can not believe no one screams about the pain after that big of a surgery. He has only taken pain meds a couple of times in his life...once was last year when he broke his shoulder and they could not do anything but pain meds until it healed. With ESLD, not a good thing to do. Needless to say, it shot his HE right into hallucination land.....so he stopped pain meds at about 10 days. And he cut all of his fingers on one hand in a table saw accident before he quit work. Took two pain pills, and toughed the rest out. Never takes any pain meds after leaving hospital for things like TIPS, EGD's, etc.... So I think he is simply freaked out at the thought of transplant. I am just so thrilled for you guys.
