Hi. I have written earlier about trying to get my funding and was so successful that all my meds are free. That's the sovaldi,rivitrol and gelexis. I'm in Canada in british Columbia. the drug companies and medical insurance were great to work with. It took a few calls but I had an excellent worker that hounded them for me .The insurance was only going to pay 50% but sovaldi contacted them to reconsider, explaining we had children and I am on disability.Our income is medium. They did quote a few thousand but I just said couldn't pay .I did a lot of worrying in the beginning but I just had to be patient. I have no side effects except a one time rash from sun. I haven't really been in it since. I am genotype 1. I have stage 4 cirriosis non alcohol. Started out with a viral load of 4 million and after 5 weeks treatment am down to 15. From what I was told the liver can regenerate itself which I thought wasn't possible.I do think this is a miracle drug and am fortunate to be able to get it. Angers me how its not available to others when it is a cure. I have had Hepc for about 10 years but untreated til now. Sorry I tend to bounce around a lot.I'm 57 bi polar and suffer from anxiety.

Congratulations on your wonderful news, P&C! I love hearing of someone else whooping HepC's butt!

I wanted to say something about liver cell regeneration. Although liver cells have remarkable regenerative abilities, it doesn't work with a cirrhotic liver. The reason is that the scarring blocks the regeneration process. The various research that shows the ability of liver cells to regenerate are done using healthy livers. For example, when someone donates part of their liver, both sections are composed of healthy liver cells - so the cells will regenerate and both livers will grow to almost normal size.

Continued good luck to you with the HepC treatment! Sounds like you'll reach SVR very soon!
