I just got a positive result on hepatitis A with a result of 10.9

What the hell does this mean and what can I do? I've had symptoms for months now.

Can't believe I wasn't sent to get these tests done ages ago

well, my doctor just said that the result is just a positive that says I've been explosed to the virus at some stage in my life... it's not actually in progress right now??

what a shock, seeing the paper then being told that's not the case... apparently I've been exposed to both Hep A and B during my life.

You could have been exposed to Hep.A months ago. It sometimes has a recurrence from initial exposure. You may have gotten it, Gotten sick feeling, Felt better for a few months and it popped back up again. Don't know how it was missed but as long as you caught it and took care of it now.

Is it possible you took the vaccine for A & B and this test shows you have titers for those now and are not ill at all? What did the doc say? Call the nurse and check the meaning out. Mama Lama

I tested positive for hep A, B, andC, when I was. Dxed for hep c. A is a foodbourne bacterial illness. B is a viral illness. They both resolve by the immune system. Many people, myself included, don't know they were exposed. Hep c also resolves by immune system in 20 percent of exposures. Hope this helps
