Wonderful news.
My partner, Mike, is 4 weeks post Sovaldi/Olysio treatment and still UND.
We have a few more weeks before we can do the happiest dance ever.
Congrats to you both...and to the docs who got him in this new treatment!!
Hugs, Mama Lama

Thank you to everyone on this board that have helped, listened, gave much hope and encouragement to myself and others dealing with hep c and liver disease. Its a very happy time for my husband and me knowing for at least 3 months until next viral load count that we can put hep c on the back burner and breathe deeply for awhile but also its very sad for others that can't afford or get approved for this medication which is saving lives and giving hope . I just think it is wrong that it is not available for everyone who could benefit from it. You would think in the long run insurance companies should see that the treatment is far less costly and with less side effects than a transplant. I just pray that the price comes down and is made more affordable and available for everyone. Seven years ago this Sept 11 marks the day that I found my brother passed away on his bedroom floor from cirrhosis of the liver he was only 55. He had been to rehabs quit drinking many times but always went right back to his old ways. He suffered from depression and was bi-polar but he didn't have a mean bone in his body and not hardly a day goes by that I don't think of him and maybe what could of been. We also came from a long line of alcoholics and dysfunctional childhood and I guess with his mental illness that is how he coped with the pain. Rest in peace Mike I miss you! Again Thank You for this great forum.

Your husband must be so thrilled to get a new lease on life, I too hope it is made available for everyone who needs/wants it.
All the best to you and your family.
