Well I am ecstatic! The hep c nurse called today and said "no virus" in my blood!!! Oh yes!!! I'm just done with week three out of 24 on sovaldi and ribavirin. I have geno 3 and cirrhosis and have failed the old interferon treatment before... So I am feeling very hopeful. Gratitude and love to all who have helped me stick with a few uncomfortable side effects with patient and practical suggestions. 21 more weeks to finish slaying the dragon!!!
Have a great weekend!

Congrats Plant! It always feels good to know the drugs are working. I hope your sides are minimal and you coast till Christmas.
Be well, HF!

Thank you so much HF! Feels like a holiday anyway, even at this stage. I haven't had much good news so far since they told me I had cirrhosis, so I'm officially celebrating with Ernest Hemingway and a cup of tea tonight. Woo hoo!!

Oh I'm really excited for you Painter. Yes I am really cutting up the rug here- I was so hoping for this good news. I'm sending all the very best your way and will be eager to hear your results. How are you doing on the treatment? I cannot believe how much support I'm getting from this forum and hope that you are too.

Oh what a delight to hear from you Music! And that at the end of your 24 you are UD! I'm looking forward to hearing more from you before long. I am doing pretty darned well except for turning into a big cry baby, and having a few headaches, and being short of breath and dragging my butt around ever so slowly. But HEY- these are small ( and temporary) prices to pay for something that as David said " is going to change my life". I'm gratefull beyond belief. Now to hang tough for the duration. Keep us posted on how you're doing,

Just a quick update here- I just finished week of of my 24 weeks sovaldi and ribavirin regimen. Labs clearly indicate ( besides going undetectable!) that my liver is very happy. My ALT is 32!!!! Excuse me? Wait, that's in the NORMAL range! Probably a first for about
30 years! AST is near the normal range now too. I'm sure that it doesn't hurt at all that I've completely stopped alcohol for almost 5 months either. Just want to say that I get so much help and support through all of you and by following so many of your journeys. The help offered here is so compassionate, non-judge mental and helpful. I feel so fortunate to have this help while I go through the ups and downs of struggling with the effects of Hep C, cirrhosis, and it's complications, and the (minimal) side effects of the treatment. Thank you all so very much. I hope you all have a wonderful and healthy day.
