glad you got dual listed, better late than never. Iowa was my little hidden gem, I told my wife about
it and she got much calmer as in MN the average transplant is done at like 28. Even though 22 is the average, alot of people get transplated at 18 or 19 from what I saw on their statistics. Depends on blood type.
I hope your dad is able to get home today, I always think getting out of the hospital even if just for a few days allows people to feel much better.
When you are there, if you find that they have a BMI restriction let me know. I am a big guy, always have been. my liver problems are not from that though, probably did not help anything. i lost about 80lbs, but since getting better have had a hard time losing more weight.
The University of Minnesota told they do not hold BMI against you as they have done studies and big people actually tend to do a little better recovery wise.
I am not 400lbs, but I am 6' 4" tall and just a shade under 300lbs.
Their website does not include a BMI restriction, and the few clinics that do consider BMI listed it I found.
