Hep C outbreak at colonoscopy clinics was kept a secret.....

This isn't the first time that contaminated meds gave patients Hep C. If in fact they were using the same syringe for multiple injections, that's criminal. Syringes cost practically nothing, so saving a buck or two is medical malpractice. I would hope that the people infected are going to get the new treatment for free.

There was a medical tech with a drug problem that had Hep C and he was taking the part of pain meds, then filling up the syringe with water and infecting patients.

Gasp.

You just don't expect this when getting your EDG and colonoscopy, do you. I understand the risk with drug addicts stealing pain meds from your syringe in hospital settings, but by now one would think cross contamination precautions would be known, and followed by anesthesiologists. Not just one clinic. Seems this was standard practice to use vials on more than one patient. Then, in Toronto, to keep this a secret...a health risk cover-up with documented Hep C cases. Shameful.
