Def, it's wonderful to hear that you are tolerating treatment so well! Yay you!

I had the same experience as Mike: Quit hard drugs cold turkey (though it wasn't easy), quit alcohol with no problem, but the darned cigarettes were the hardest. After 10 1/2 yrs., I still sometimes get a craving...I just don't act on it.

Haven't smoked a cigarette since 1978, when I quit cold turkey. Still think about it on occasion. One puff and I'd be back smoking.

That's it, David. You have to think it through. I don't know if I have another "quit" in me. True of all addictions. Bill had quit smoking for 7 years at one point, but picked up a cigarette again and never quit again...and it killed him in April (COPD.) A very sad and unnecessary death.

The doctor called with my results today and after 4 weeks I went from over 11 million to undetectable, so it looks like I only have 5 months of treatment left to go.

My injection this past week wasn't bad at all. I worked Saturday and then my band had a gig Saturday night. The gig was one of our best. Tomorrow I start week 6.

Hi all. Just checking in with you. Hope everyone is doing well. As for me, I went to the doctor for my last blood test maybe 3 months ago and he told me I was cured. He said there was no need to keep having it checked, but I have a physical every year with my regular doctor so I think I'll just make some blood work part of my yearly routine for a little peace of mind. No lasting side effects and I feel better than I have in years. The band is doing great and my job couldn't be better.

As tough as the triple Rx can be for some people, I hope the new meds are working well for everyone. Just remember, if a 44 year old broke down, chain smoking, casual drinker can handle the triple Rx and end up with no disease left in his body, so can a lot of other people.

Thanks again for all the help and encouragement. You guys are awesome.

Def! Great to hear from you!! Themister treated with the old double ....interferon/riba twice. The 2nd time we waited for the magic, triple combo. Well dang. He was a GT3 and could not do the triple. So a 2nd course of the double. But it worked and SVR over 2 years. I hope you are enjoying the band and life in general. So lucky you eradicated Hep C. Live that life and enjoy every day, Def.
