I found this forum and hope maybe someone else has experience some of what I am going through because I may literally be losing my mind. That being said. Here goes...
I am having a very simple problem, that obviously has a very complex solution, because I've been to a large number of doctors and no one can figure it out.
Short version, whenever I eat solid food, no matter what it is, I get dizzy, mental fogginess, and irritated. If I expel the food from my stomach or let it digest, once my stomach is empty, I feel fine. Anyone else experience this and had any promising diagnosis? This has been going on for six years 2006-2012.
Medical history:
Heavy drinker most of adult life. Quit in 2006.
2006: Asked for scans/bloodwork of my liver/gallbladder and pancreas. All were normal
2011: Symptoms got much worse, got an Abdominal ultrasound (they said liver and gallbladder and spleen were normal), MRI, CT scan, blood work. All were normal
2012: May. Went to hospital for 2 days with extreme upper right abdominal pain, amylase and lipase elevated 3x normal. Cleared up in 2 days. Released. Got all the same tests as in 2011 all normal.
Since then the symptoms have been getting worse. Anything I eat, I almost pass out. I've heard that early stage cirrhosis could have this symptom and could gallbladder disease. They refuse to retest, but I know something is really wrong. I lose my balance, slur my speech, have trouble typing, eyes want to roll back into my head, all after eating something. Even just a little bit. No food, I feel great.
Problem is I've gone from 195 to 169 lbs in 3 months b/c I'm afraid to eat b/c I can't work or function when I do.
Anyone going through something similar and have any advice, similar test results, suggestions.
Starting to fear I have liver disease and they missed it, b/c we all know how much doctors care. :S
Thanks in advance.
