Good to hear they got the drain and the nasal tube out last night, Alex.

Refresh my memory :) Are your folks staying in Iowa and having the the labs done there for a few weeks? Or will they let them return to IL and coordinate care through Loyala? These questions are really important for others who read, but do not post here. Let the transplant coordinator at Iowa how happy we all are with Iowa proving this dual listing thing to be a very good idea, indeed.

I want you to know my husband, themister , asks me each day how your dad is doing. Today he learned a bit about drains and tubes :) Accept a hug from both of us. And we send your parents our sincere congratulations for raising a caring and compassionate son. Big Hugs

I do plan on writing a very nice and detailed letter to the hospital and the transplant team when this is all over. They have been great the entire time and the dual listing decision has easily been the best decision of MY life, and I hope one day my dad can say the best for his as well.

Send thanks to themister for me and if you have any specific questions feel free to let me know. Sometimes I ramble and don't delve too deep on specifics.

The coordinator told me that upon discharge they will let him return to IL and have the labs done here! That was great news for us. He is just to return for his 3 week post op appointment to remove his staples. At that point we will be given future appointments etc.

It appears he might be discharged as soon as Monday if all goes well these next few days. He needs to be able to have bowel movements without a suppository and walk more.
