Just started 4 th month of treatment,bili level was 3.3 a month ago,new labs today,doc says if it hits 4 he will have to stop treatment,hoping it won't get to 4, I am turning yellow,I thought bili could get a little higher before they would be concerned about it,but he said and drew me a picture:) of what could happen if it reaches four they anticipate it increasing quickly to 10 or higher and he said I would have to go be admitted and blah blah I know u have heard it before, there I feel a little better just telling someone.Thanks

Is your doctor doing labs weekly? My husband had a totally different treatment with the old drugs. But, there was a danger zone for bloods and themister really pushed it. He had labs weekly the whole treatment, did need some rescue meds. But again, it was not bili. And this is simply my pitiful attempt to commiserate with your situation :) : )

No one has reported this side effect.

Many take only 3 months of this combo and clear.

Maybe they will stop and take a wait and see approach, trying harvoni down the line instead.

This is not great news. They pulled the old meds on Mike in month 4 because of anemia, low platelets, 50 pound rapid wt loss. They tried procrit and neupogin...but he had no insurance and they were making him sick AND broke.

Fingers crossed this works out somehow.

So far they are plan on me coming back in 4 wks,but the labs they took today may change that when results come back,will have to wait and see,Themister.ML doc said they would stop meds,didn't say they could stop it from going up,he did say if it continued to increase would have to admit me for fluids and things(I didn't ask what things he was talking about)Doc did say if I have to stop this we could try other med later.

Oh yeah my platelets have decreased to 70' so I'm wondering if they have changed,doc said that when the liver gets toxicity it hardens and that could be causing them to drop.

Took meds tonight,check to see if labs were back,bili was 4.7 ,ast elevated,expecting doc to call tomorrow and tell me to stop meds,viral load not resulted yet,hope it's still undetected and he doesn't want me to be admitted for I've fluids.

97, I was just wondering what your doctor said. Sorry your bili is pushing up. This is so frustrating when you have a new treatment and are months into it.

I do want to mention something similar happened to themister, my guy. He was told to continue his 2nd treatment to 48weeks due to having relapsed once as a cirrhotic.

As a GT3, he would do normally treat 24 weeks on the old SOC. However, he was having rescue meds, bedridden, sprung a benign cyst on his neck, and got an infection that required surgery. A real mess. So he had to quit at 24 weeks due to sides. So even though he was recommended to continue to the 48 week place...he could not. He obtained SVR anyway, which we did not have much hope would happen.

It is possible to clear and obtain SVR in less than the recommended time. If not, there will be another treatment for you.
