With the meds we are taking, I was suggesting we should change it to No Good medicine goes unpunished (nullum remedium impunitum)

(I had not thought about MM; that would apply as well)

Day 7 -
I look forward to my meeting with the Doc and labs next week.
My thoughts right now is that I have placebos, the drugs are stale, or I am VERY VERY lucky; because I feel no side effects at all. Maybe a slight feeling that a headache is coming, but nothing ever materializes.

I can only hope and prayer that this continues for the remainder of this treatment.
I hope this is the way it is for you Getcured.

So very happy that all is going well for you. You do not have a placebo and your medicine is good and yes, you are lucky-- nothing wrong with that. Cant wait to hear about your labs-we will all be routing for you. I will do labs in a week.
I really cant complain (well maybe just a little!-- as you say "no good medicine goes unpunished") about the meds. As you feel headaches coming on mine just keep coming- I am sure that this is so because I have suffered from migraines for many years and this medicine just aggravates them. So.... luckily I am able to take imitrex for them and will now take it as soon as I feel a headache coming on. Other then that a little tired but not horrible. So I consider myself lucky as well to have this medicine that will kill this disease and a cyber friend that is not only looking out for me but going through it with me.

Good Luck to you as well.
As far as headaches, can you be a little proactive, and take the Imitrex with your other meds, and maybe the headaches will never materialize.
Not sure about anything, but I am drinking at least a gallon of water every day; maybe that is helping. I try to drink a glass every hour that I am awake.

I week down, 11 to go.

They are zipping by, LA! That was a fast week. You want to get cured. No sides of treatment can compare to end stage liver disease, LA. Big Hugs

2 weeks down

Took labs yesterday, still waiting to here.

As far as sides, so far, still a NON-issue; which certainly makes it easy to continue on.  This is as routine as all the other daily pills I/we take.

Once I hear about labs, I will relay.

Hope the others out there are doing just as well.

Hi LA S- So happy that you are doing so well with no side effects and it could not be more deserved after your preparation before taking the medicine and positive attitude.

Wish I could say that it has been as easy for me. Many headaches and exhaustion. But.. none of the other side effects that people complain of (insomnia, riba rage, etc.) .. cannot complain. The headaches are not a surprise since I suffer from them even without the meds. Have started acupuncture and I think that it has helped but will know more after more sessions. Trying anything that does not involve taking more medication.

I also had 2 week lab work done but was disappointed to learn that they only tested me for my hemoglobin to make sure I was not anemic. To no PCR and no liver enzymes to compare to pre-treatment. Will have to wait for 1 mth visit in early Feb. Maybe not so bad. If more test were taken now and I was not virus free I may worry. (What's a day without a rationalization).

Will be excited to hear about the results of your blood work. Again. so glad that you are doing so well. GC

Hi All
Nurse called while I was driving to work and said a number, and she said it was really good news. I really didn't hear what she said, other than that she was happy with the result.
I went to my VA website to see test results but nothing posted yet, other some other blood panels and every thing seems just as normal. Platelets down a little (135 to 129); but I have always been low for as long as I can remember. (I tried to give platelets when I was younger and they turned me down, so nothing new here.)

So I guess, so far so good. At this point, I wish I had begun in October as they had first suggested; I would be finishing up this week. Oh well. hindsight 20/20.
I just needed the time to prepare myself and the others around me, in case the worst of this treatment happened.

GC, I hope your treatment goes a little better going forward. Drink more water more often I guess. I almost drown myself every day. Almost don't miss the Coke Zero, almost.

OK, I guess the results are pretty good so far.

I had 5.37M VL before, and now its 16. just 16. (no millions or thousands or hundreds) in 2 weeks.

The other number which I don't understand yet is Log10IU/ML; went from 6.73 to 1.22.

I told the nurse I was going to have a couple of champagne cocktails to celebrate..
(JUST KIDDING)

Thats excellent!!! So so happy for you.
I had blood work taken at 2 weeks but they only tested me for anemia and did not send to lab for either CBC or a PCR. Not sure why but have an appointment for Feb 4 which is 1 month in treatment . They will test then.

I guess the saying No news is good news could apply.

Today is 1 month down, 2 to go.

No labs available yet (did them Monday), but Nurse was pleased with the first round.

Still no real side effects to note. Although I should admit, I have times in traffic and some other stressful situations, where I become a "little" more aggravated than usual. And a few arguments over petty things with GF. (all over the phone, she is out of town). So, I am trying to avoid the stressful things; like driving to work after rush hour is over; continue to drown myself in water; and just keep breathing). The psych folks at VA gave me an antidepressant, but I have not started using that just yet. Waiting to see if what I am going thru is just isolated events; or if it is becoming an overall mood change. I had let my boss know about treatment, and asked him to let me know as soon as he sees anything troubling to him. So we will see.

And the 4th weeks results are finally in -

VL = UNDETECTED.

Yeah

This last Sunday I was pretty tired all day, and just laid around; but that's it really for sides. I feel very very fortunate so far.
I hope all those on treatment with me, all have similar results.

Congrats LA S!!!!! So happy for you and that your pills were not placebos! I should find out 4 wk results Fri or Mon. Took blood on the 5th. I'll report in somewhere. In the meantime, really hoping everything right happens soon for our inspiring leaders and their very significant others.

Hi all

Good News continues at halfway point labs.

VL was undetected for second straight labs.

Hemoglobin, is at 13.6; it has been falling about 1 point every 2 weeks

Platelets are at 140; down from 155; however they were at 115 before treatment.  I have been historically low anyway.

I have to say. other than a couple of days of feeling exhausted; this has been very easy.  I am able to work and concentrate every day; I have no headaches; and no real side effects I can notice.

I feel very very fortunate that the treatment is going so well; and the results, are as they are, so far.  Its all downhill from here (5 more weeks). 

I hope and pray that all others going thru this are as fortunate as I have been.

When I was a kid, my Uncle always said, "Be thankful you have your health".  When you are a kid you think what is he talking about.  But as we get older, and you see that some folks have a tougher road than others, you (I) really understand what he was saying.
